DELL

Have you thought of buying any pc or laptop from Dell? I wonder. Well, you can find all sorts of advertisements of Dell in the newspapers, magazines and not forgetting the television. It makes you ponder as to the cost of advertisement which Dell is prepared to spend.

Honestly, one should be careful before making any decision to buy a pc or a laptop. I think one should consider :

- budget
- purpose of using the pc/laptop
- specification
- shop around before making a final decision

Well, personally I will not encourage people to buy pcs from Dell. I do have my own opinion about pcs from Dell. I did buy one from Dell. When I want to upgrade the pc, I would have to contact Dell as most of their parts are customised. One good example will be the motherboard. They have their own BIOS and so overclocking might not be possible.

Secondly, if you want to upgrade the PSU, think again as the pins might not be compatible with the motherboard. The only way to upgrade the PSU is to call Dell. That is not upgrade-friendly.

As for laptop, I might have different thoughts about it. Since most of the laptops are more for portability, chances of overclocking the laptop is virtually impossible. Well, Dell does have good bargains on their laptops. Perhaps it is good to have a look at their websites before making any decision.

In the end, I would think it is best to build your own pc but as for laptop, it is alright to buy from Dell.
