Rushdie: knighthood?

As you know, you do get loads of attention from the media if you are Rushdie. Look at him, knighthood by the Queen herself!!! Isn't it wonderful? I don't know. I do know that back in 1989, Tehran sent a fatwa against him and that was where he came to UK to hide. He is still in UK and well.

I think people do remember his infamous work: Satanic Verses; how people in Tehran burned his books and a price tag on his head for going against Islam. Well, he was really brave.

The question now is whether it is justified for the Queen to give a knighthood to him? I am not going to be bias here. There are people who are saying that there are no connection between his work and his knighthood.

Who is this Rushdie? Can you tell me about him? Anyway, i'm sure there must be a good reason to his knightwood. Her Majesty doesn't knight people easily like what happens here. We have a King & 9 Sultans & more often than not, titles are given to people that are not worthy.

Rushdie was featured in yesterday's NST. Well, whatever his ideologies are, which sane person would turn down such a Respectable & Grand Honour from Her Majesty, Queen E!
