Petrol Station

I was really shocked to hear that the petrol stations in Malaysia is going to submit a proposal to close at 10pm everyday and start their operation at 7am instead of closing at 12am or 24 hours for some petrol stations in the city.

I don't really understand the reason why. It will be really tough for customers who wants to pump petrol into their car after 10pm. It will be really inconvenient. Where would drivers be able to pump petrol after 10pm then? Along the highway? So do you think that if a driver stays in KL and seeing his car is running out of fuel, he would have to drive all the way to the highway just to get some fuel for his car? That is pretty inconvenient, right? Think about it then.

I do understand that vandalism is on the rise and petrol stations have to employ personnels to run the petrol stations but it does not justify the fact that they have to shut at 10pm and open at 7am for EVERY single petrol statation?

If people were to vandalise petrol stations, it could happen at any time and not just during opening hours, don't you all think so? I am also not keen in the association in passing on the 1 percent commission charge from the bank for customers using credit cards to consumers who are using the facility. I think the fact is that the associations are greedy! They are just passing on the problem to consumers. Look at the price of the petrol now days. It has been on the increase for years. I could remember two years ago where a litre of unleaded petrol was just under RM1.67. Now it is close to RM2 for a litre!!!

The funny thing is that petrol prices in Malaysia will always be on the rise and will never decrease in prices. It is so unlike other countries where by the petrol prices will increase or decrease according to the demand and supply of petrol. Oh dear...

A lot of cases of serious robbery has taken place after midnight, that's why. But are we suppose to stop driving at 10pm? Silly isn't it?
