Price Fixing?

This is an update to the previous blog. The OFT alleged that a few prominent supermarkets in the UK fixed their prices on cheese and milk! Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys will defend their stand where by they have done nothing wrong. We will have to see about it.I don't think Tesco will do such a thing because it will cost them a lot of money if the OFT were to find out in the end. Most probably the Anti-competition Commission will initiate the investigation on behalf of the OFT to see whether any price fixing has occured.

I can tell you that it will take some time because these are the big three supermarkets in the UK and it will take some time for the Commission to finish their investigation. Oh yes, it involved Dairy Crest too. Farmers are not happy because big supermarkets are not helping them. They alleged that big supermarkets are just a bunch of blood suckers (so to speak) because they will buy off product from farmers at the lowest price as possible and never share their profits with the farmers. Oh yes, it will be a juicy bit for me to have a look in the near future of the outcome.
