Nokia N95-1

Just a quick word. I love the Nokia N95-1.It is amazing! I do have some tips for those people who are using it and wanting to know how to improve the N95-1's battery life.

(1) If you are thinking of why the battery is flat at the end of the day, it is most probably due to you using it on 3G service. Deactivate 3G service under network settings. If you can't deactivate 3G settings due to a customised firmware from your operator, change your product code and reflash the phone and it will sort the problem! You will see an improvement on your N95's battery life. Beware that if you were to proceed with this procedure, you will loose your N95's warranty.

(2) Exit all applications if you are not using and that is not by pressing the red button. You would have to exit each application manually. You will be able to see which application is still functioning as you will see a blue circle on the top right of each icon to suggest that the application is still active. Exit the application as soon as you can.

(3) Always recharge your battery when it is calling out for a recharge and not recharging it when you want to. This will help to maintain a proper recharge and discharge of the battery so in turn will help the user to have a better battery life. If you think that the standard battery (BL-5F) is insufficient, you may want to try buying the BL-6F battery which comes with the N95 8GB version. However, in doing this, you are risking manufacturer's warranty on your N95-1. The difference between the two battery is that while the BL-5F is a 950mAh capacity, the BL-6F is 1200mAH. You cannot use the back cover to close the battery compartment if you are thinking of using the BL-6F on the N95-1. Instead, you need to use a crystal casing for it. With the additional battery capacity, it rocks!

I do noticed that once I have change the network settings to GSM only, I only lost one bar of battery life in a day compared to having recharge the phone on a daily basis if I use 3G! That is the difference!!! Try it!
