I am not amused by the fact that a few companies (i.e. BG and EDF) have made statements that they will increase their electricity and gas prices. In fact, BG said that the increase will commence with immediate effect. Oh no...That is pretty bad for consumers, right? What happened to the wholesale of gas and electricity? It was mentioned that the retail sales over the Christmas period was the lowest as compared to a few years before. Consumers are not spending enough to drive the economy.
I think there is a reason for that. Consumers are trying to save up some money so that they will be able to pay for other bills like electricity and gas bills! Where are they going to get the money to pay for such bills then? They will need to save up some money, right?
Oh well, what can I say about it? I would imagine that house prices will start to fall beginning of this month. I would surely hope that it will continue to fall so that people will be able to buy one for themselves.
