Macbook Air

As you have heard that Apple is wheeling out its successor to the Macbook which is called the Macbook Air. It is 13.3" with 1280x800 and powered by Intel Core 2 Duo. It has everything that you would expect from Apple (bluetooth, wireless n, iSight camera and quietness). In this latest model, something is so much different from previous version of the Macbook range - the size of it.

The Macbook Air is only 3 kg in weight and guess what is the dimension of the apple macbook? 1.94cm in thickness!!! That is pretty impressive though. Furthermore, you will find that the keyboard illuminates in the dark and you will be able to use the macbook just like the ipod - Yes! The menu is similar to the ipod. Excellent, right? It also comes with the latest OS - Leopard and iLite 08.

For the cons - The techonology is similar to previous generation of macbook, perhaps even worst as you can only choose 1.8Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo and not the 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo which featured on the macbook. That is a little bit disappointing. Besides this, it only comes with 80GB of Hard disk space although you can upgrade it to a 64GB Solid State Drive. Apple have moved away from the build in DVD-RW drive. It is now external. Oh dear... That is pretty bad, isn't it? No build in DVD-RW drive. Worst of all, the battery is non-replaceable. You can't just go to a shop and buy one new battery to replace the old battery. You need to get back to Apple to do it for you. That is a little bit troublesome, right? Anyway... the killer is being the price... For £2028.00, you are getting the techonology which is one step backward from macbook although the laptop is pretty impressive as it is really slim. However, nothing excites me more than the backlighting of the keyboard. That is all... Apart from that, nothing really matters. It is light but so what? you have to use an external DVD-RW drive!!! That is so inconvenient, not to mention about the non-replaceable battery!

I will wait if I were you. Don't rush to get one now although you can pre-order for delivery in two to three weeks time. Ah... I think we will wait then...Get here to have more information regarding the Macbook Air apart from Apple home page.
