More Sony Vaio problems

Well, I have managed to upgrade the Sony Vaio FZ21Z to 64 bit Vista. Guess what? I feel that it is running much better than before. I've tried 32 bit Vista and it seems that the OS was dragging on like a cow (sluggish performance even though 4GB of memory was installed). I then installed XP but could not find drivers for many functions including the inbuild webcam and also the graphics drivers (although I managed to get a unified graphic driver to work). I was, unable to get the inbuild webcam to work.

Oh well, I have then resort to 64 bit Vista. I do have two reasons for using it. One is the well documented memory support which 32 bit OS will not be able to achieve (64 bit Vista will support 4GB of memory). All I can see on my system properties that I only have 3GB of memory under 32 bit Vista. Secondly, I find that the 64 bit Vista runs faster than the 32 bit Vista. I don't know why is this happening but I am glad that it is doing a fine job.

However, until now, i still can't get a driver for the inbuild memory card reader. A browse through Sony website will see that Sony does not have 64 bit support for its memory driver on VAIO yet. Oh dear... What a bummer. This is where Dell is better. They have a complete list of all drivers (32 bit and 64 bit) available on their website. I think if I ever change my laptop, I will go for a Dell, definately....
