Zimbabwe Election

I have heard tha Zimbabwe has once again delayed the announcement of the recent general election. The result has been delayed for more than 48 hours. I think Mugabe's 28 years rule has finally come to an end.

What do you think about his ruling in Zimbabwe? I think he has done nothing good for the country. Just read this. Zimbabwe is currently under pressure from the foreign market. Inflation rate has risen to 100,000 percent! That is really bad! People are suffering terribly and the gap between the poor and the rich has increased tremendously. I think it is time to close the gap.

I really hope that the issue will be solved as soon as possible. fingers crossed.

Update on 08/04/2008:

Until now, there are no official release of the recent election results by the government. There were many speculations but what we do not know is that when will the government release the election results. Common, it is more than 72 hours after the election ended and why is that the government refused to release the information to the public then?

Update on 11/04/2008:

Mr Mugabe is under terrible pressure to release the recent election results. Sooner or later he would have to release it during the upcoming summit.

Update on 12/04/2008:

South African leaders will meet on Sunday to discuss Mr Mugabe's position. It is really hard for the international community to see that election results are being delayed as mentioned by PM Gordan Brown. We will see what will happen as the leaders will have to proceed with the summit without Mr Mugabe as he is not attending the summit.

It was mentioned that Mr Mugabe is clinging on to power but there must be something which could end the crisis. I think the earlier the election results are published the better it is.

Update on 13/04/2008:

It was reported that the ZEC (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) has commissioned votes recount to many of the constituencies (23 in total so far). The opposition thinks that it is just another plot for Mugabe to order a recount. The problem is that you need to have evidence in showing that a vote recount is necessary. I don't think that there is any shed of evidence to show that a vote recount is necessary when the results are not yet being released!!!

Updates on 17/04/2008:

The people of South Africa is wasting no time in asking for Zimbabwe's election results. It has been over two weeks since the election has taken place. What is taking them so long to count? Look here and you will understand. Actually I really want to know why it takes so long for such a simple job to do? Why?

Updates on 02/05/2008:

Ok, we have got the results. The MDC president have won the election but it was stated that he does not have sufficient votes to carry him to be the next Zimbabwe president. Now, he is in a limbo because he has to continue a second run off. Otherwise the current president Robert Mugabe will still be the president under electoral law. Oh dear...
