Apple Iphone 3G on Prepaid

O2 is releasing the Apple Iphone 3G on pay as you go. The 8GB version would be going out for £349.99 while the 16GB version will be selling for £399.99. The pay as you go version will only be released beginning 16th September 2008. What is interesting is that if you were to buy the pay as you go version of the 8GB, it will be cheaper than going on a contract for 18 months. Try this. You can get the 8GB Apple Iphone 3G for £349.99 and get a simplicity contract for £20 on the 600 minutes and 1000 text messages. You will also be getting unlimited internet access on the £20 30 days contract. Check this out, if you multiply £20 by 18 months, you will be paying £360 for the bill in 18 months. If you were to add £349.99 on top of the £360, you will be paying a total of £709.99.

If you go on a contract for the Apple Iphone 3G, you would have to pay £99 for the phone, £35 a month for 18 months which you only be getting 600 minutes and 500 text messages. The total bill for 18 months will add up to £630. When you add £99 on top, it will be £729! You can see that it is cheaper for you to go on pay as you go now.

Many people will most probably buy the Apple Iphone 8GB or the 16GB 3G phone and then unlock it themselves. Mark my word. As for me, I am not interested at all. I have tried on the Apple Iphone 3G for a few days and never like it too much. I think it is just too fancy. I could not get used to the virtual keyboard. My E90 is much better. One thing which I have to say though. The Apple Iphone 3G's battery is quite good but the downside to the phone is its RF. Apple, do something better next time, ok?
