D-Link Wireless Adaptor

I am not impressed with the performance of external wireless adaptors manufactured by D- Link. You can ask me why and I will be able to tell you more about it. Before I do, it is vital to know some facts about wireless adaptors.

When you talk about laptops/notebooks, you will notice that most of the modern ones come with in build wireless adaptors. If your notebook/laptop does not have a in build wireless adaptor, you would have to purchase an external wireless adaptor which, in my case, I bought one.

I have tried a few products like Linksys and D- Link and I have finally chose D-Link, thinking that it will be suitable for me to surf wirelessly. I was wrong. If you have an opportunity, never buy a wireless G adaptor. Always try to buy a wireless G and draft N2, if possible or Wireless G MIMO as it will provide you with better coverage, provided the wireless router supports MIMO.

Anyway, coming back to wireless adaptors, try not to buy D-link. I know that D-Link sell many types of wireless adaptors but trust me, not all of them are good. If you have the cash, get the wireless draft N2 or wireless G with MIMO or the wireless G+. That will be much better than the standard wireless G.

I think I would have to chose some other brand because the wireless G adaptor which I bought from D-Link could not pick up wireless signal of all the possible wireless hotspots around me. I think it will be best to chose some other brands but not D- Link. This is my second D-Link wireless adaptor because the first one was faulty. It is pretty strange, right?
