Mobile Phones in Malaysia

I have to say that mobile phones in Malaysia is pretty different from UK. The difference is that 99 percent of consumers will buy the phones outright and would refuse to take up a contract for 18 months or 24 months or even 12 months. Instead, they would rather use pay as you go.

The beauty is that prepaid or PAYG services in Malaysia is gaining ground. Many people would rather go on prepaid nowdays. It is simple - No fuss and no complications. Now days, if you are on Digi, you would only need to pay 1 sen for each text message sent to your family and friends. That is brilliant, right? I think so.

They are selling the Nokia N96 in Malaysia for around RM3300. Due to the fact that the exchange rate of British Pound to Malaysia is given at 5.30, it will be much cheaper to buy in the UK than in Malaysia.

I have also come across an article where by Nokia users will be able to know the country which the mobile phone was manufactured by going to this webpage. Have fun!
