Intel Atom Update

Wow! I am really happy that Intel might release an updated Atom chip to support screens which are larger than 10 inch. That is perfect! I really hope that Intel will do so because it will show AMD what Intel is capable of doing so. As you would have probably know that the Atom is capable of running on two cores through hyperthreading. I am just wondering whether it is possible for Intel to release a better cpu without compensating on the L2 cache and FSB.

Two months ago, I tried on the Acer netbook and found out that the N270 cpu is quite capable of doing basic work but not graphics intensive. That is most probably due to the lower FSB and the lower L2 cache compared to most of the Core 2 Duo or the i7 cpu. Well, you can't have two bites of the cherry, right?

Update: 05/02/09 - Dual core Atoms are finally out in the market!!! It is going to take up around 35W. I think that is alright, don't you think so? Check it out!!!
