After giving it much a thought, I have decided to see what Windows 7 has to offer. I think, with great respect, that when a new piece of technology is being offered, never ever be one of the first few to use it as it might not be perfect or up to your expectations. It is the same with the Nokia E90 which I previously owned. I was not the first batch of users to own the mighty E90. It has lots of bugs and the build quality is just not up to scratch. However, with the improvements on the E90 ( the maroon colour and later, the black colour E90 [ with v14]),I have decided to give Nokia a run for its money. Indeed, there was no problem with in running the piece of equipment at all.
Coming back to Windows 7, it is the same. Windows 7 is now ready to be downloaded for beta testing. Microsoft will unlock the download limiter to accommodate more than 2.4 million beta testers. I have to ask Microsoft in the reason of limiting beta testers when it is such a popular software? I think Microsoft is just a publicity of telling the world that there are more than 2.4 million beta testers for their upcoming Windows 7 OS!
Nonetheless, one of those beta testers will be me. I am fed up with Windows Vista and I am looking forward, not backwards for a better OS. Look, you can't really blame me. I am using an Intel Quadcore CPU with 8GB of memory. I don't think Windows XP 64 bit will be able to utilise quadcore technology although they did something good on regconising 8GB of memory. Good job Windows XP 64 bit! I am now downloading the full 64 bit of Windows 7 beta. I will get back to you once I have more information on it.
Stay tuned.
Update: 2047 hours - Finished installation of Windows 7 beta build 7000. It is very stable but Nokia PC Suite and also Nokia Software updates could not be installed on the platform. What a shame! Other than that, there is no complains about Windows 7. It is actually faster than Windows XP and Vista!
Update: 18.01.09 at 0402 hours - USB speakers are working at last! It was not useable under Windows XP 64 bit. The Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit works fine! I'm quite impressed! Somehow or rather, I just want to know how to disable 'earlier OS version' on the bootloader. It is quite annoying considering that I do not have other OS installed.
Update: 18.01.09 at 1839 hours - Finally, I have managed to install Nokia PC Suite and also Nokia Firmware Updater by checking out on this page. Basically, right click on the installer and click on 'troubleshoot compatibility'. After that, put a check on the first and third box counting from top to bottom. After that, just proceed to next until the end. Good luck!
