Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R

I know that it has been a while since I started using the particular Gigabyte mobo. It is actually very stable no matter how I wish to crash the system. I have tried overclocking the Q6600 to 3.6Ghz without any problem (no doubt that I only tried to run it for ten minutes as it would consume a lot of electricity). The best part of it is that if you ever come across BIOS problem as a result of overclocking, the BIOS will reset itself to the default BIOS state. That is pretty cleaver. You do not need to open the tower and reset the BIOS manually by changing the position of the BIOS jumper anymore.

I have managed to install RAM heatsink and also some chipset heat spreader. I have also remove the whole front panel of the tower (yes, the whole chunk of the front panel to reveal the emptiness of a spare 5.25" drive, an additional floppy/internal memory card reader and also the bare casing itself. By doing so, I got rid of one humming noise rising from the tower. That is pretty good, isn't it? Well, many people would say that by doing so, the tower will attract more dust. Oh well, it does not really matter, isn't it? If you feel that the cpu fan is moving too fast or the temperature is too hot, just remove all the cables and give the tower a clean up, using an air spray can then, isn't it?

The motherboard is good and cheap too! No doubt that it does not support SLI but hey, do we really need SLI now days with ATI's HD 4870 X2 and Nvidia's GTX 295? I don't think so. The mobo is quite efficient and now, Gigabyte has released the Ultradurable 3 motherboard. I believe that it is much better. So, for you guys out there. If you want to buy a reliable motherboard at a reasonably price, go for Gigabyte!!!

For those of you who is using the mobotherboard version 2.0, there is a new BIOS (F13c beta) for downloading. You can get it from here. Updating the BIOS is at your own risk!!!
