Wow! I was totally blown away with the excitement over the announcement of the Nokia E55! I am totally in tuned and worked up for it! I am going for it baby! The New Nokia E55 is the TRUE seccessor to the ever famous E71!!! I am so proud of Nokia as they have managed to release a much better phone than the E71!
I was not impressed with Nokia when they announced that they are going to release the Nokia E75, supposedly the successor to the E71. After doing some research, I don't really like the design. The cpu of the phone is not much greater than the Nokia E71 anyway! What is so special of the Nokia E75 is that it has a slide with E51 head. Oh well, I just can't wait to get my hands on the E55!!!
First of all, the shape of the E55 is identical to the E71. Secondly, the cpu has been upgraded to an ARM 11 600mhz cpu and the screen remains the same at 2.4" supporting 16M colours. I believe the same cpu is being used by Nokia to power the Nokia 5630 XpressMusic handset. It is powerful!!! The size of the E55 has been slimmed down to a mere 9.9mm thick! If you are thinking of the E71 at 11.9mm, what about 9.9mm then? The E55 is going to retain the metal state casing, just like the E71. The digital camera is still 3.2MP with autofocus. It is far away from the Nokia N86 8MP or the Nokia N96 8GB which Nokia have announced. I was wondering why Nokia is still retaining the poor 3.2MP digital camera then? One thing good about the Nokia E55 is that it will support N-Gage... You fellows will be able to play games at good frame rates now...I could play it on my E90 but it will consume a lot of power but with the E55, it will be alright as Nokia said that the standby time is one week!!! Can you imagine? That is just great!
I am really excited about it. I think I am going to sell my Nokia E71 soon as I want the E55!!! Hurray! Ops, one problem though. The keypad is different from the Nokia E71. It is a half QWERTY unlike the E71 where it is a full QWERTY. It might take time to get used to it but hey, the cpu is double the firepower of the E71 and the OS is now Symbian OS 9.3 with Feature Pack 2!!! Wow!!! That is what I am saying yo! It is the ultimate phone now for me!!! Say goodbye to Blackberry guys, with the Nokia E71 and E55, Blackberry is HISTORY!!! With Microsoft Exchange running on your E71 and E55, Blackberry phones are HISTORY!!! Yahoo!!!
Other specifications of the phone would be: Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR; quadband GSM and quadband UTMS (much better than the E71); 95g in weight; Accelerometer sensor; A-GPS; HSDPA supporting 10.2Mbps; GPRS; EDGE; Wi-fi enabled and USB 2.0.
Well, I have nothing against Blackberry phones though but I am just so excited that they are releasing better, capable phones than Blackberry!!! One last thing is that it comes with either black or grey colour. i think the black colour is good...Thinking of having 30 days standby time? You got it from Nokia E55!!!
