VOIP Applications

If you own a mobile phone, you might want to make cheap calls or even free calls to someone far away. Traditionally, one would have to get a contract on their mobile and buy a calling card so that they will be able to make cheap calls overseas. Well, this trend is going to change.

Make way for Fring and Nimbuzz on your mobile! I am actually using Fring right now and I feel that Fring is much better than Nimbuzz but it is my own preference. Other people might argue that Nimbuzz is much better. One thing for sure though...Using Fring on your mobile phone will allow you to make use of your 3G, EDGE or GPRS connection so if you want to use Fring, please make sure that you have an unlimited data plan. Nimbuzz is similar to Fring but the reason why I have chosen Fring over Numbuzz is that if you are not on Wi-fi, Nimbuzz will make a local call to their server in over 50 countries to allow you to make an overseas call. I don't think they will be using 3G or 2G connections to do it. If it is true, it will mean that it will take up your inclusive minutes! Well, I don't want that to happen.

With Fring, it does not use your inclusive minutes if you are not on wi-fi. It will simply use your existing 3G or 2G connection to make the call. So far, the quality of Fring is quite remarkable. I have to say that it is best for someone to have 3G connection on their phone to make an outgoing call rather than a 2G connection. Stay with Fring!!!
