Debbie Purdy

Debbie Purdy has been on the limelight for many months. She is a multiple sclerosis sufferer and she is willing to go to Dignitas to die. She is asking the question of whether her husband, who is going to help her to die in Switzerland, will be prosecuted when he returns from Switzerland. The decision will be known soon.

Right from the beginning, I was quite interested in her case. In fact, she has managed to attract lots of attention as you can see from here, here, here and here. In the USA, however, there are established cases as you can find it here. Debbie Purdy's case could be found here and here.

Update: 30/07/2009 - She has won her case where her husband will not be prosecuted if he were to assist his wife's suicide in Switzerland. Tragic...
