UPSR

If you noticed, there is a call for the government to abolish UPSR which is the government examination for students before they graduate to high school. It is their primary school examination. I just don't understand why certain quarters will want to abolish the examination when they can't really come up with a good proposal to replace the examination.

Certainly, I do feel that there should be some sort of examination for the children as to prove that they are ready to embark on a different journey (high school education). By looking at this article, I don't feel that there is a need to replace the examination yet. Perhaps the education ministry should set different questions, not always similar questions so that it will be fair to students.

I don't feel that the government needs to overhaul the education system. I can foresee that no matter how they change the system, it will roughly be the same. The question is: why would the government spend that sort of money to overhaul primary education? Build more schools and provide more teaching facility will be more appreciated!
