Dell Engineer

I had the pleasure of having a Dell Engineer to fix my laptop. It is not that I could not fix the laptop myself but I think it is better to ask them to come over to do it since the laptop is still under warranty.

The Dell engineer came over and replaced the defective motherboard and heatsink/fan. I was really happy with it as he was really professional! Excellent!!!

The good thing is that my laptop is now fixed. I have noticed that the BIOS is at A08. Perhaps it is best not to flash the BIOS to A11 as the CPU is now running at super cool 33c with moderate usage. I am not sure whether it will shutdown during load but I will see about it later. In the mean time, I think I will stick to the A08 BIOS. I will take into account the advice of 'Don't fix it if it ain't broke'.

However, I might want to add a copper shim on the GPU with an ICD7 thermal paste just to be sure. That will be another day though... In conclusion, I think the A09 is defective and it is better to stick with the A08 BIOS at this moment. However, it is mentioned on the Dell website that the A11 BIOS is now ready to be flashed...
