Nokia - Don't Disappoint Your Fans!
I don't think the X7 or the E6 will make any sense to consumers. This is because while other manufacturers are gearing up for dual core cpu at 1.2Ghz (Samsung Galaxy S2), Nokia is still releasing mobile phones with single core at 680mhz!!! What is Nokia trying to do?
I have to admit that Nokia should release mobile phones which comes with a better capacity battery and better power management software. I do feel that the Symbian ^3 is going to get any better until Anna OS is release and nothing spectacular with the s60v3 or s60v5 too. Well, Nokia should start thinking about dual core mobile phones with better power management OS! It is not good to just sack all or most of your software engineers! On the contrary, Elop, I do think that you should ask them to enhance the ^3!!!
Look, Android does not owe Apple anything! Instead, Nokia should be thankful that Microsoft is there to bail them out. However, if Nokia is going to stick to Windows Phone OS... I am afraid that Nokia will lose more of their customers... I am 100% backing the use of Nokia PC Suite. If they move over to Windows Phone OS, I'm going to say goodbye to Nokia... This is because the Microsoft ecosystem for their mobile device is quite below par... Just look at Apple's iOS and Android 2.3.4.
Shame on you Nokia.
However, I am still with you through thick and thin as I am still using the nokia N8...
Update:
14/06/2011 - Nokia has been beaten flat - Samsun is the largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world followed by Apple and Nokia. Nokia, buck up!!!
Sneaky Microsoft - IE browser again!
If you noticed, you are not capable of using google as your search engine provider anymore! You could choose from a variety of providers e.g. Bing and Yell.com but not Google! That is just crazy! You and I know that Bing does not offer searches as good as google does. Why would Microsoft want to disallow users to do so then? If that is not bad enough, Microsoft have also disable Yahoo as one of the search providers. With both Google and Yahoo out of the way, is there any good in using the search bar to search for anything? Well, the alternative thing to do is to head off to google.com to look for the information which you are looking for.
Microsoft is sneaky!!!

IE 9 beta vs Firefox 4.0 beta 10
For over a year now, IE 8 was the main and the most stable internet browser among the other version of the IEs in the market. Even with Microsoft's pledge, all other versions apart from IE8 are "vulnerable" to attacks. That's why they have recommended users to use IE8 instead. With IE9 on the way, more and more people are drawn to using IE now.
As for me, I am the opposite though. I think IE9 beta is unstable although Microsoft have mentioned that it is much better than many other browsers in terms of being succumbed to internet attacks. I do regard IE9 beta as a worthy competitor for other internet browsers in the market e.g. Firefox and Opera but whether it is worth using it will be a question too soon to answer.
I have tried using IE9 beta and it crashed on certain websites which I usually browse through. The page will still crash even though I have run the page under the compatibility mode. It is sad, real sad.
On the contrary, Firefox is rather different. I've tried the Firefox 4.0 beta 10 and guess what? It is quite stable with no webpage crashing! One thing for sure is that Firefox will take a longer time to load a page from cold as compared to IE9 beta. I guess such a trade off will be justified.
When is Microsoft going to provide a more stable platform for their users?
We will be waiting...

Internet Explorer 9
To me, with the preview, web pages load up much quicker as compared to the IE 8 but I don't see any difference in the browser itself. I think I will be looking forward to seeing the memory usage of the IE 9. From my point of view, the Platform Preview edition show that IE 9 is pretty quick.
Fingers crossed. We'll see what Microsoft can offer when it is being released soon.
Updaate:
08/04/2010: IE's browser share in the market has fallen to 63%! That's a far cry from a high of 90% a few years ago. I think the drop in the market share was possible due to the development of Mozilla's Firefox and also Google Chrome. For once, I think those people using Firefox might want to turn to Google Chrome because Chrome executes much faster than Firefox and IE. Besides that, Chrome does not suffer crashes, unlike IE. You can also install add-in, just like Firefox. I think Chrome will potentially take over the number 2 spot from Firefox if things are going at this pace.

Internet Explorer *Update*
The reason why I don't like it is because it is slow and it takes up lots of memory resources! I could feel that my machine is working like a horse when I am using IE 8. It is terrible! I do frequently receive empty websites which does not display anything at all but all other internet browsers e.g. Firefox 3.6, Chrome 4.1.2, Opera 10 and Safari 4 could display the page. I just would not understand why IE 8 will not be able to display all websites properly!
Perhaps the only reason why I would use IE 8 would be websites specifically work on IE and no other. One good example will be PC Pitstop. Their benchmarks and tests would only work if you are using IE. No doubt that you could still run test on their websites using Firefox but it would not be optimised. Another good example will be the use of the web based Microsoft Exchange (MfE). You could use alternative browsers to gain access to your MfE account but you would only be able to use the MfE Lite and not the full version. The question now is how are you going to run those pages using an alternative browser then?
The answer is quite simple. When you want to gain access to those websites which are optimised for IE, you could download add-ons, e.g. within Firefox 3.6, you could actually install an add-on called IE tab. It is the same goes to Google Chrome 4.1 and the page will load up, just like loading it up on the IE.
I think Microsoft should brush up with their skills on the upcoming IE 9 .No doubt that Neelie Kroes has managed to put a dent in their books but the major problem at the moment is consumer's preference. Consumers have more choices right now to choose which browser that they want to surf the internet. It was good that Windows 7 was created as consumers could uninstall IE 8!!! With only around 35% passes for Acid3 Test on the IE 9, people do expect more from Microsoft though.
Long live freedom!!!

Security Risks
That would mean that both Google Chrome and the Opera 10 are still "alright" to use. I'm sure that Google would always have to patch their browser just in case of an attack. I was really shocked that someone could hacked into a fully patched Windows 7 using the vulnerabilities on IE8 itself. Wow...
Just think about security, guys!!! You do need to have at least an up to date antivirus system and if it is possible, a firewall on your pc/laptop.

Browser Choice
With the browser choice which will appear on every Windows user's screen after updating their Windows, it let me to believe that Microsoft's dominance have finally disappeared. Well, not really.
I do believe that giving consumer more choices will be a good thing. However, it is also bad in a way that it will not promote the idea of brand loyalty. I have to say that there are many good things about using Microsoft's Internet Browser 8 (IE 8) as it has more security features. However, being the forefront of the browser dominance, IE 8 has lost its crown finally to the other browser.
I don't really like to use IE 8 as it is slow!!! I wish Microsoft will make its IE browser faster to execute. One more thing though - The IE 8 could not get passed the Acid Test 3!!! Can someone please fix it?
At the moment, it seems that Firefox 3.6 is gaining ground, same to the other browsers like Google's Chrome 4.0 and also the Opera 10. I think Google's Chrome will have a bigger market share as Firefox 3.6 seems to be getting slower to execute...

Google Chrome
I was quite frustrated with Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8. This is so because I was experiencing sluggishness on my machine although I have upgraded the memory to 8GB. I then installed Google Chrome and ran the task manager and saw IE 8 taking onboard around 100MB while Google Chrome 4 was only taking in 10MB running on one window and it was the same home page. I was just shocked and could not express my deepest sadness to depart with it.
Presently (06/03/2010), Google has released the updated Chrome version to 5.0.342.2. It is relatively more stable as I don't get crashes as often as the previous version when I am running on some browser extensions. Good work!

Browser War 2009/2010
Before I continue, it is very important that you have to understand that the particular research was funded by Microsoft. Do you think that it reflects the true nature of the security of the winner over here being IE 8?

Google Chrome
After fiddling with Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8 (IE 8) for some time, I do feel that it is best for me to try out some other alternative browsers in the market. I don't particularly like IE 8 when it crashes whenever I'm browsing a website which uses adobe flash although I have updated the flash player to version 10. I then told myself that I need an alternative browser badly and so I have to choose.
Opera
At this moment, Opera has released their latest version - 10.10 for Windows. I have read on the internet about how good Opera is after all these years. They were behind the sole alternative browser for smart phones until recently that they have intensified in building a world class browser for the Windows platform.
I do find that the Opera 10.10 is pretty fast but I do have problems when it comes to using their turbo mode. Not many websites are in supportive of the turbo mode and most of all, it does not load up websites supporting flash properly. Although pages do load up pretty fast, it lacks Mozilla Firefox's user friendliness. It will also show up many additional functionality which I think is a lot of junk.
Safari
Apple has been quite busy in releasing their Safari browser on the Windows platform. You might have noticed that the Safari browser was originally used on the Mac only platform. Since conception on the Windows platform, it has been quite useful as an alternative browser to the IE 8. However, I have to stress out that Safari is back to back on course in defending their "which-is-the-fastest-browser" with Mozilla Firefox at this moment. Don't fight as Google's Chrome browser is playing catching up with them.
Safari does not load up flash websites properly. In fact, by all means it is quite a fast browser but you can get stuck when you are trying to gain access to some websites and you do not want to be stuck on those situations. On the whole, I do think that Safari is good for the Mac platform but it might not be the ideal browser for the Windows platform.
Firefox
The browser was originally created using source codes from the old Netscape Communicator which was then sold to AOL.com, Mozilla's Firefox is pretty quick in loading up websites and not problem in getting through to all websites including flash websites. It has solved IE 8's problem of any "illegal operation" and it does not succumb to any possible internet website attacks as it has an in-build security features which I think is much better than IE 8.
I do believe that Firefox is doing well. It has positioned itself as the number two browser after IE 8. Actually, I would believe that with Firefox, you can install add-ons like the weather channel on your browser. You cannot do so with IE 8 as it will crash!
Having said that, Firefox 3.5.6 still have some problems with opening websites which needs flash. I do get slowdown in opening such websites and sometimes the page will just crash. At this time, it will be as good as IE 8...
Chrome
Google is a powerful company. It is not that they are great in launching their very first Android smartphone with the HTC G1 on T-mobile, right now, there are more than three smartphones supporting the Android OS. The latest Android 2.1 promised to fix lots of bugs and create more user friendly features.Google has also launched their Google Chrome OS which is installed on many laptops/netbooks. We have yet to see about it.
Their browser, Chrome, had a better luck. The latest version of Chrome, version 4.0.226.0, allowed users to install extensions, just like add-ons on the Firefox. The browser is fast and stable. It allows better access to flash websites than IE 8 ,Firefox 3.5.6 and Apple's Safari 4.0. So far, Google Chrome is the best browser to surf such websites at the moment.
So far, I have no problems in using Google Chrome. However, it does not have a private browsing function as you would do so on IE 8, Firefox 3.5.6 and Safari. This is the only criticism which I have on the Google Chrome. I don't think it is much of a problem as users could manually delete their browsing history manually just before shutting down the browser.
Conclusion
What can I say about which Internet Browser to use? To me, the Google Chrome is the best browser to use right now.

Disable Security Warning on Internet Explorer
That is why I have decided to look for some answers. Well, I have found the answer. What you need to do to disable the security warnings on the Internet Explorer will be to fire up Internet Explorer. Click on "Tools" and then "Internet Options". From there, click on the "Security" tab and then click on "custom level". Make sure that the "Internet" option is selected and not others before you click on the "custom level". Scroll under the title of "miscellaneous" and look for "Display Mixed Content". Enable the option and apply. Close and then restart Internet Explorer 8 and you will not get the annoying security warnings of allowing consumers to choose between displaying a webpage on "https" format or "http" format.

Apple Safari - Version 4
The latest Apple Safari 4 browser (4.0.3) is pretty impressive. No doubt that you might not get the same kind of flexibility which you would get on Firefox 3 but nevertheless, it is as good as Firefox. I would really recommend people to start using Apple Safari 4. Gone are the days where the Safari browser is mainly "Mac" oriented. It has totally come out of it. I am very happy to say that the Safari browser is worth a try.

IE8 on Vista
Chrome is fast and simple which I have no problem in using it. In fact, it does the job I want and surely it is suitable for many people too. The problem is that Vista will not allow user to uninstall IE because it is part of the OS. I would really appreciate if someone were to be kind enough to teach me how to uninstall IE 7 without losing any data on the VIsta OS. Cheers for that.
Update: 20/07/2009 - After doing some research on the internet, I have finally solved the IE 8 crashing problem. It is relatively simple - If your IE browser keeps on crashing, what you need to do is to start up IE, then go to Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - Under Internet Explorer Settings, click on the 'reset' switch. After that, you need to reboot your computer and it will be fine. Finally!

Google Chrome 3.0
Based on the latest news about the Chrome OS, I am just eager to see the release of the new OS particularly Intel is part of the project. Acer is also going to release a dual boot netbook (Android OS and Windows XP) sometime in October 2009. It will be fun to see the development of it. I just can't wait.

The internet browser will allow full time private browsing!!! That is a step ahead of Safari and also IE 8!!!

IE8? Nope...Back to Firefox
I have to say that I use both IE 8 and Firefox 3.0.7 and I still feel that Firefox is much better. This is because Firefox will render webpages much faster than IE 8 without the need to use more memory. So far, I Do not have any problems in opening web pages with Firefox but I do have some problems with IE 8. Often than not, many web pages have to be reverted to the compatibility mode, i.e. IE 7 before the web pages could be opened. That is pretty serious over here. If that is the case, why bother using IE at all? Stick with Firefox then, alright?

Browser Wars
At the moment, I am using Mozilla Firefox 3.0.7 (published version) but there is a beta version which is the 3.1 beta 2. I don't really recommend the beta version because it might clash with many of your programmes. Just stick with the launched version of 3.0.7 until now.
I have longed to stick with Internet Explorer 8 RC 1 but I could not do so. This is because the browser is a memory hog for no apparent reason and it slowed down my system. It is bad enough that I am running on a single core CPU, let alone with 2GB of DDR1 memory. It is rather slow but browsers should make way for older CPUs, right? Right now, Opera is trying to do a good job. They are alright but not as user friendly as Firefox. Don't get me wrong, all browsers are similar but it is just a matter of preference. I feel that Firefox is more stable and faster as compared to other browsers. Apple's Safari 4 beta is also not too bad at all but I don't really like the tab buttons. On the whole - Mozilla Firefox is the best!

Browser War (updated)
Don't forget that there are other browsers out there... You have Crome, Opera and Safari. They are all equally good. Stick to one which you like the most. Ha!
