He did not change. Think about it. As a prime minister, he would have to make tough decisions and when you are making decisions, not all will accept your decision(s). This is just a common thing. As humans, we are individuals and we do have our own thinking. We could disagree with other people's thinking because we are unique in this world. We are not borg (from Star Trek). That makes us special.
The downside from that is that when we make a decision, the tendency of getting a backlash is obvious especially you are a prime minister. You do not need to become a prime minister to be in his position. You could be an employee and just doing your job. Just because other people don't like the way how you do your work even though you are good in your work, it does not make you a bad person. In fact, Blair should be happy that he went through the whole saga and emerged as a champion. Well...Not really but his party is still the ruling party after all.
Picture this. As a leader, you would have to make decisions and sometimes, you would receive bad comments from other people. Not that you are bad. Most of the time, for those people who made bad comments would be those people who are selfish and felt cheated because they were late in coming out with such a good idea. They could have got the limelight but it was too late as someone else had come out with that idea first. See the point?
One important fact is that one would have to stick to their guns. That would be the best option.

Yes, I fully agree that Tony Blair has done a remarkable job as Prime Minister, Indeed he brought positive changes to the Country & upheld Human Rights for all citizens & residents in the UK & has practised democracy in the fullest manner. He brought Peace in Northern Ireland, something that was unimaginable to most people in the World, He did it with grace, yes he is a Man of Class, Elegance & intelligence.
Yes, Iraq & Afganistan was a mistake but then again, who's perfect? His plus points overlap the bad. Now he will proceed to be an International Leader & will bring more good to the World. All the Best To Tony Blair!
Well, what can you say? Gordan Brown is now the PM. It is still too early to say what is going on in the country. It is only Gordan Brown's second day in the office as PM of Britain. There are more to see...
