Apple said that customers will be able to experience full internet capabilities but how are customers going to do it when the Iphone 3G does not support flash or java applications? This is a good argument because full internet browsing would indeed include java and flash applications. That is why the advertisement agency in the UK has asked Apple to modify the advertisement but Apple maintained their views on the full capabilities of the Iphone 3G. Unlike the Iphone 3G, the Nokia E90 supports both flash and java applications. The downside for the Nokia E90 is that it weights around 80g more than the Iphone 3G. I would prefer the E90 because the Iphone does not have a QWERTY keyboard which makes it really hard for me to type with the virtual keyboard. I also like the E90 because it has a traditional keypad at the front and you can send a quick text message to anyone if you do not have the time. If you do have the time, open the phone and make use of the keyboard. Excellent, isn't it?
I know that Apple might be launching their next generation of Iphone with a proper keyboard underneath, just like the many HTC phones. I think if it were to happen, I might get my hands on it since it has a proper keyboard. Well, sources said that the next generation of Iphone is not here until next year. Oh well, we will have to see it then, right?
In the mean time, if you want a pay as you go Iphone 3G, you would have to wait until the end of 2008. I think it was stated that the price will be around £300. Anyway, it is better to be on pay as you go because consumers will not be able to unlock the Iphone 3G legally as Apple and O2 will not release the unlock codes to consumers who signed up for the 18 months contract anyway. They will not release the codes even consumers have completed the 18 months contract. Well, in that case, why bother going on a contract then? Get a simplicity contract (30days contract) and buy the Apple Iphone 3G on pay as you go if you want when it is launched. Mark my word, I am not interested as I need video calling and it does not offer video calling. 3G data service is a shamble as it would drop to EDGE most of the time due to the immature 3G chip.
Right now, stick to the Nokia N95 8GB for multimedia. You'll love it.
