One thing for sure is that if anyone were to ditch their E90 for the E71, they will get a much better default 3D tone. Even the Nokia tune on the E71 is very much softer than the E90 (even after the latest firmware updates to version 210.34.75). The E71 is also very light (at 120g) compared to the E90 (at 210g) and most of all, it has a proper QWERTY keyboard just like the Blackberry Bold (a.k.a. Blackberry 9000).
While you can say that it is better to have the E71 because it is a newer phone, existing users of the E90 will miss the beautiful and good laid out of the keyboard when you open the phone. Oh yes, running softwares at the background while on the phone or surfing the internet in the E90's case will see that the battery will need charging after 8 hours. I have tried listening to mp3s while surfing the internet, running the E90 on 3G at the same time and the battery died in 8 hours.
Oh well, you do not get the same treatment on the E71. The E71's battery last very long!!! I think I would have to say that mobile network operators do have a factor in the battery usage. I can tell you why. I was using O2 network on 2G signal. What I got was the reception level going up and down. While using the E90 for listening to mp3s and surfing the internet, the battery will only last for 8 hours on one charge. Change over to vodafone 2G signal and it gave my E90 some extra time before the need to recharge. What does it tell you? Change over to Vodafone? Better do so.
I think I would have to see whether the new E71 which would arrive tomorrow solve the speaker humming sound. If not, I would have to consider cancelling the contract as I took up the contract just because of the E71.
