Fatwa on Tomboys

Wow...This is a first by Malaysian Islamic Council by issuing fatwa against muslim woman who act or dress up like Tomboys. Well, frankly, is that a sin? I don't get it. I think someone should enlighten me regarding this issue as I am quite new to this subject.

When I was in high school, I did see muslim woman who act or even dress up like tomboys. Well, what do you say about them then? 'It is a sin!!!!'

This Fatwa comes from Kelantan and Fatwa's are man made Islamic Laws that are freely endorsed. In M'sia every state's Islamic Laws differ, there isn't a uniformed Syariah Law in M'sia. I did have a conversation with a friend of mine who is a well known M'sian Personality in English Theater and she told me that Kelantan doesn't seem to have any better work to do!

At the end of the day, most Asian countried have parental governments who often become Moral Police, these governments are ignorant about civil rights and liberties.

I think what is important here is that Kelantan is not really 'that' moral after all... I think they should think twice before making any law which are going to be useful for Muslims. Oh dear...
