Customer Service of Mobile Operators in Malaysia

If you are a customer of any mobile operators in Malaysia, please beware. You will be disappointed if you expect too much from customers service in Malaysia. Don't have too high hopes that they will be able to resolve any problems for you.

I have to say that if you are a Maxis customer, chances that you will be disappointed is more than 90 percent. When I say that you will be disappointed will be discussed further. One good example will be: (1)Picture that you are in a situation - You are waiting for your number to be called in Menara Maxis at KLCC. There are over 13 counters and you are the second customer in waiting to be served.

After 30 minutes, your number is still not being called despite the fact that you have seen three counters were free and you could see that the customer service assistants at those three counters were chatting away in broad day light. Is this good customer service? Just imagine that you are just too sick and tired and begin to ask around for help. You managed to get someone to help you and he directed you to someone at a different counter. The customer assistant told you that everything had been done and you then go away.

The next thing you found out is that the customer assistant have not completed her job and you tried to call customer service but half of them could not understand English so you have to speak in Malay even though you have selected English. Well, not a problem but in the end, there was a confusion and you just gave up as they could not assist you.

In another senario, you tried to go to a local maxis showroom thinking that they might be able to help you but no...they could not do so because they have to call customer service over the phone and it is all back to square one. Why is it so difficult to delegate some important role to customer service assistants who are meeting customers face to face? I don't understand.

That is enough about Maxis customer service. I would like to talk about U mobile. I have not much complains regarding U mobile customer service simply because I do believe that most of the customer service assistants are well trained!!!

If you are thinking that Celcom customer service is good, you are partially right. The reason why I am saying this is because some of the customer service assistants do not have good command in English. You need to beware of that. Apart from that, I do not have any problems with it.

Now, the finale...Digi. I have just one thing to say. They are the best!!! I am not one sided as I am using Maxis and Digi right now. I got rid of Celcom earlier on due to the fact that it was too expensive.Digi customer service is probably the best that you can ever find. Too bad as they have not roll out their 3G service. That is a shame. I hope that they will be able to do so in the near future.
