Frankly, I do have a Bird E895 which is quite a good phone but since it is a touch screen phone, I do have difficulties in moving about. I am using it as a backup phone. Personally, I have no problems in using Bird E895 except where SAR is concern. I do find my ears quite hot only after ten minutes on the phone. Never mind about it as I will only use it as a backup.
Looking on the internet will expose you to many dual sim phones.I am thinking about the Samsung D880 Duos which cost around £180 on eBay. It is brand new and unlocked to all networks. Well, the problem is that since it is on eBay, chances that the phone is equipped with chinese firmware is highly unlikely. Oh well, I need to look for an alternative.
I have also seen the candy bar sister to the D880 Duos - The D780. It is quite alright and serve the purpose of having two standby sim cards at the same time. It is very useful particularly when you have friends who are on two different networks and the only way they are going to get through to you is when you are on the same network as they are. I have no choice.
The Samsung D780 is pretty much the same as the D880 Duos saved for the 2.0MP non- autofocus and non sliding phone. It is a pity that both of them are not 3G capable. Being on the Nokia bandwagon for a long time, it is quite difficult for me to get used to Samsung phones. I did have some nasty experiences with Samsung phones but I hope that with the new generation of firmware the menu system should be alright.
It took me some time to get used to the Samsung D780 but I have to say that despite of all the small nitty gritty problems which I had, it is a good phone to use. The speed of the menu system have improved but not as good as Nokia. It is not as user friendly as Nokia but it is good enough. Overall, it is a very good phone to use. It is light and you have the options to use two sim cards all at the same time. It is a very good phone to use.
One minor problem when using the phone - You might not be customised in using the keypad because of its hardness particularly if you are so used to Nokia mobile phones. Apart from that, it is a well balanced phone to use if you are willing to forgo things like 3G support and autofocus digital camera and a below par music player. The Samsung D780 uses their own proprietary headphone jack unlike certain Nokia phones where you can use a normal headphone.
