Merging of two Courts

As a reply to what retired Chief Justice Tun Abdul Hamid Mohamad have said about the possibly of merging both the civil court and Syariah Court will harmonise the people living in Malaysia, I will strongly say the opposite. I am not alone in saying no to merge two courts. MCA publically said that it is not good to do so for the fear that non muslim will be subjected to syariah law even though they are not muslim. What is wrong with him?

I think it is WRONG for us to merge two courts. Both courts must be separated. Otherwise, it will just drive away foreign investment. Foreigners will not be happy if this were to go on like this. It is WRONG! Are they trying to ask non muslim to be subjected to Syariah Court? Oh...if that is the case, non muslim men can have upto four wives? That is wrong!!! It is such an insult to non muslim!!!

Where is the separation of jurisdiction? By him saying that, he is trying to blur both jurisdiction.

Well, it is bad enough to say that there is no CLEAR separation of powers in Malaysia. You see, the chief of the executive, being the PM of Malaysia, has the authority over the judiciary. I am not saying that he has a say in any cases but he has influence over some high profile cases. That is not to be seen under Badawi's case. Despite other people's bad comments about him, there is one thing which I like about him is that he does not really interfere with what is going on in the courts.

It seems that Mahathir is active again. Oh yes, it is about time for him to stay retired. By asking Badawi to stay silent when he step down in March 2009 in directly will not do him good though. It shows that Mahathir has the intention to make a come back...
