Asus P565

You might have not noticed but Asus have come up with new smartphones to show off. I was in Mid Valley the other day and they were having a promotion for those people who are purchasing Asus products which includes Eee PC. I am here not to mention about their famous Eee PC but rather, their smartphones line up.

Asus have released many smartphones in the past but not as popular as HTC. Despite of not being as popular as HTC, Asus have release their best smartphone yet - The Asus P565. Being a smartphone user, I have meddle with many gadgets before including the very latest HTC Touch HD which I don't really like. The main reason was due to the fact that I have to reboot the smartphone many times as it has hang! It remaind me of the very first Nokia E71 which I had. Well, not all Nokia E71 will be the same. It is just that particular model. Anyway, coming back to Asus P565.

The Asus P565 is a little marvell. Boosted by the quick Marvell 800mhz cpu which runs on triband GSM and UTMS 2100, the machine can 'fly'!!! That is just an expression.I was blown away by the speedy menu system and the smoothness when I watch some demo mp4 movies. Boy the movie was smooth and I can't find any pixel on the screen itself when the movie was running! The screen size is as big as the Nokia N95 8GB. At 2.8" diagonally, it is capable of producing a resolution at 480x640 (VGA?). One of the many highlights will be A-GPS enabled and it is equipped with 128MB of ROM. You can install more memory by using extenal microSD card. Well, microSD cards are quite cheap now days so make full use of it. Just make a trip to Lowyat and you will know the reason why.

On the whole, Windows Mobile 6.1 really shines. I love it! Oh yes, talktime and standby time is on the average. You have to understand that the cpu is running at 800ghz so the battery will get some beating too. If you continuously use the P565 for GPS function and wi-fi including listening to mp3, you will be looking at recharging the unit at the end of the day. With a 3.0MP Digital camera with autofocus which records video at the maximum rate of 24fps at QCIF format, you can replace your one time mobile phone! The P565 is also HSDPA enabled and pretty light weight at 120g! One thing for sure, it is only catchy for those people who likes black colour only. It does not have any other colours like Sony mobile phones. Have fun!!!
