British Economy

After reading this page, I could actually feel for the leaders of the country and also the people who are living in the country. The economy is not at its peak and many people including John Major himself, are shifting the blame to PM Gordan Brown.

Look, Gordan Brown could not have step in sooner to revive the economy. He was the chancellor before he became the PM of UK. Obviously he holds the key to many problem solving mechanism in the UK. I have to say that he is trying to do a fantastic job. I don't think he should shoulder all the problems that UK is facing. No doubt that we look upon him to manage the country but there are times where he could only do so much.

Think about it. The conservatives are quite silent these days. They do understand what is facing citizens and people who are living in the UK. He admitted that he made a mistake by abolishing the 10% income tax on the first £2000 which is effectively making many people worst off. I think he made some changes to ensure that people are well taken care of. Give the man some credit, though.

With the reduction of 2.5% from 17.5% on VAT which was announced recently, I feel that it will be good for businesses but the bigger picture will be where is the government going to replenish the 2.5% then? Well, it will be from those people who are earning a lot of money then. He has increased people who fall into the category of paying 40% on income tax to be increased to 45%. Well, is he the modern Robin Hood? You tell me then.
