Windows XP 64 bit Update

I have to admit that I have been a long time fan of 64 bit OS. Even though I hit a snag while using Ubuntu 8.10 earlier on, nevertheless, I can now confirm that I am loving Ubuntu as much as Windows! However, there are a few so called 'disabilities' that hampers Ubuntu - Can't really install all Windows based applications and games. I think in due course, Ubuntu users will be able to do so.

Coming back to 64 bit OS, I am using Windows XP Professional 64 bit since March 2008. I can safely say that whilst you can't really run many 32 bit softwares, it is still a big step forward compared to the good old Windows XP 32 bit. The main reason why I have to use the 64 bit OS is that I have installed 8GB of DDR2 memory. Since Windows XP or Vista 32 bit can't detect more than 4GB of memory, I am left with no choice but had to move over to 64 bit OS.

The Windows XP 64 bit is similar to the 32 bit counterpart. There is not much of a problem in using it besides the software incompatibility which you would get off and on when the piece of software does not support 64 bit. I recently bought a 2.0 speaker which is actually called Pleomax by Samsung. It offers 3D USB speakers. The driver which came with it does NOT support 64 bit. Oh well, what can I say about it? I think Windows XP 64 bit is very rare indeed... I was told that most modern softwares will support Vista 64 bit but NOT Windows XP 64 bit. Why? I don't have the answer though...
