Think about it. The screen is around 7" to 10" and it is equipped with either SSDs (Solid State Discs) or 80GB hard drive (SATA). Not too bad considering SSDs are very expensive nowdays as it is still quite a new technology. The idea of Netbooks is that it is small, not as small as an UMPC but it is between a laptop and an UMPC. I think Eee PC's 10" (model: 1000HE) baby is sufficient. However, you are not expected to run formidable games in it.
Look, the hard disk space is not that brilliant if you take into account using SSDs. Unless you have lots of cash, you will be able to buy 256GB or 512GB of SSDs which would cost you a bomb. The next thing to worry is that cpu. The latest Atom which I have mentioned earlier is dual core but look at the FSB, it is only rated at 667mhz and ruuning at 1.6Ghz with a TDP of a mere 8W. It has an integrated Intel graphics with High Definition Audio.
As you know, Intel graphics are not that brilliant, not without AMD's ATI or Nvidia graphics. I am not sure about ATI's plan but it seems that Nvidia is keen in jumping on the wagoon. They are going to release a Nvidia Gforce 9400M to give the Atom a boost. Wow... That is wonderful, isn't it? I am sure that it will be a brilliant idea! However, I am just not convinced as to how much power will the 9400M take. It is bound to sacrifice on the time which a consumer can use the Netbook. Oh well, not to worry as Asus has released a 10" EEE PC with a capacity to last for 9.5 hours? I don't know as now you can get a 10400mah battery for around US$112 from the internet. I think by using the 10400mzh battery, your EEE PC will last quite a long time. I am, however, skeptical about it. Well, it is true that we have the 10" Asus EEE PC, following the MSI Wind. Well, what's next? Is it going through to bigger screens using the Atom dual core, perhaps?
