First of all, the economic situation is not helping them either. There were many estate agents have gone bust and it is set to lose out on more estate agents in the country. How are they going to survive then?
I went through a real estate agent when I move into the flat. The flat was alright and nice but they did not inform me about the background of the flat in the beginning. When I moved into the properly, I was given the opportunity to inform them of any problems of the flat. Indeed I did. I wrote to them and the estate agent had a copy of what I have written about the flat. It has mould in many parts of the flat. I have pointed out this problem but they have chosen not to see it a necessary step to come to have a look at it.
Well, in that case, we did not pursue the matter. The beauty is that the estate agent blamed us for not opening the windows to promote ventilation. How could they come up to the idea then? I don't understand. We had a brief period of heavy snow which we have not come across for so long. They blamed me for not opening the window in the flat when they could not be bothered to have a look at the mould in the first place!!!
Now the mould have spread but I have wash it down. The estate agent confirmed with his contractor (supposedly professionals but all they want is money) that there is no point in us washing down the mould because it will return. The mould will return even if you have treated it with chemicals. I was told that just to use bleech and vineger will do fine and I did it. All the moulds have left the building. It was really good!
Why would the estate agent insist that we have to pay for something which we have not done? We have not destroyed the flat. We even maintained the place so beautifully! If the landlord wants to redecorate the place, I feel that he should pay for everything, not me.
What do you think?
