Windows XP

If you noticed, the majority of the OS being installed in a netbook would be Windows XP. In fact, Microsoft can claim that their OS is regaining the lost crown to Linux. I have to say that the reason why people would prefer Windows is because Microsoft is still allowing the sale of Windows XP to customers. It is simple - Windows XP is almost a decade since it was released and look at its maturity. It is still good to use. It does not consume a lot of resources and certainly it is not slow.

On the other hand, Vista is a no-no. It is not really that expensive but you need some good resources to go with it. Without a combination of a good CPU, graphics card and memory, Windows Vista will be even slower than XP. I have figure out that Microsoft is not so stupid at all. They will keep on allowing the sale of Windows XP until the birth of the final version of Windows 7. Windows 7 looks promising. It is really cool! However, let us not jump into the conclusion that all we need is Windows 7. Nope, not at all. I still feel that Windows XP is still one great OS which Microsoft would have to do more to properl convince me to change over to Windows 7.
