Chap Goh Mei

Today is the last day of this year's Chinese New Year. It is Chap Goh Mei. On this day, you will find single woman will throw mandarins into the river in hoping that they will be able to find a suitable husband. On this day, it is also known as the Chinese Valentine's Day. We do know that the English Valentine's day falls on the 14th February but the Chinese have their own Valentine's day too.

There was a small celebration of Chap Goh Mei at the Malaysian Hall in London Bayswater this afternoon. It started off with a lion dance and then lunch. The occasion was over by 3pm. VIPs were flown from Malaysia to attend this year's Chap Goh Mei at the Malaysian Hall. The food was fantastic, same goes to the lion dance. Obviously, it includes short speeches by VIPs.
