I just don't understand why the fuss in the issue of discontinuing subsides by the government. A member of parliament has said yesterday during a press conference that if the government is not going to do anything about it, the country will go bankrupt by 2019. I am sure that it is not a pretty sight if the country were to go down in History as the very first country to stay under in Asia.
The government could discontinue subsidies. What is important is that the government should stop subsidies and then release fuel as part of their controlled item. Why not let the market to determine the fuel prices instead of the government doing so? I am sure that the government will have lots of things to worry about. It is important that the government should let go of their control of fuel prices.
This is something which will let many people down but it is good for the people. If there is a low demand for fuel, fuel prices will drop and vice-versa. What is the problem over there?
