To answer this question, I think it is best to ask someone who is capable of answering this question, or even thoer people who are involved in the decision making of laying off workers. Sadly, I do not have access to the said person.
However, I do have access to those people who are working with Airbus. One of them whom I am not going to name, is willing to share his problems with me. He told me that he escaped retrenchment as was lucky. The root of them problem is actually the failure Airbus to produce the A380 on time.
As you all know, the Airbus A380 involves many countries and Airbus relied on all the countries to build the A380. If one country could not produce a successful part for the plane, the whole project will fail. That is why co=operation is so important.
Apparently, the A380 is doing well but they are waiting for their German counterpart to supply the elctronics but it was incompatible with the French system so... The A380 project had to be delayed. This is a costly exercise...
It is a sad day for Airbus indeed...

Yeah it was a big deal on the news, it's not very often that Bristol gets the headlines, nor Filton.
Think lots of UK industry needs to buck up to be competitive. By the way, are you coming down for the Chinese New Year do this Sunday? Do let me know yeah. And i have also linked your blog from mine under Malaysian Bristolian.

Oh, thank you very much. I might be seeing you soon. Anyway, you take care then!
