MP apologies for sexist remark

I was really happy as two MPs have finally apologies for their sexist remark of Batu Gajah MP when the opposition was trying to raise a motion on the water leaking issue in Dewan Rakyat. It is important that they apologies as it would have caused a storm in the UK. At least it shows that people have to be careful of what they are talking about. Below is an extract from The Star Online dated 16 May 2007.

KUALA LUMPUR: The two MPs at the centre of a storm over their sexist remarks have apologised.

Kinabatangan MP Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin and Jasin MP Datuk Mohd Said Yusof apologised to Batu Gajah MP Fong Po Kuan and all Malaysian women for the remarks made in Parliament last week.

The furore started in the Dewan Rakyat when Opposition MPs tried to raise a motion on the leaking ceiling near the media centre at the Parliament building.

Bung and Mohd Said then said “Mana bocor? Batu Gajah pun bocor setiap bulan. (Where is the leak? Batu Gajah [MP Fong Po Kuan] also leaks monthly).”

MP should be removed as a candidate in the upcoming general elections. He has brought shame to Malaysia. He has a stone age mentality & must loose his seat!

Well, until the next general election, the both of them will still be the MPs.I wish there will be a call for by election for the two states. It is just my idea.
