Evangelical Churches

I was told that an evangelical church in Sao Paulo have openly spoke against gays. They even march across the town to enable people to prove their point. What can I say? I don't really understand it. They said that the bible is against gays and lesbians so no one should be gay or lesbian. However, they failed to see the main point here. Not every gay and lesbian want to be one. They are either born with it or found out in their later life. They don't choose to be one themselves.

I can understand the reason why the said church spoke against gays and lesbians - because they are not the normal people who seeks different sex as partners. They choose to have same sex partners for life. My question is: What so bad about it? Is it because being a gay and lesbian is a sin?

I am not going to be bias to any churches but I have to say that I would try not to go to any evangelical churches anymore. I can understand the reason why they are strict in their believes. They are saying that they uphold the bible. They are saying that the society is now compromising the teachings in the bible which should be stopped.

Well, there you go. Have your say.

Update on 11/06/2007: Gays, lesbians and transexuals were given the boost from the Brazilian Tourism minister as they performed during the annual perade on the streets of Sao Paulo. Well, with the perade, I am sure that it will boost the country's income as tourist will specially come over to have a look at the wonderful perade of the year!!! There should not be any sort of discrimination against Gays,Lesbians and Transexuals. They are huaman, not an alien. We should not keep ourselves away from them.

Jesus Christ has clearly said;'Whatsoever You Do To The Least Of My Brothers, That You Do Unto Me'. This statement of Our Lord clearly indicates that Christ is Non Judgemental & Non Discriminatory. He is a just God & a God of Mercy, Compassion & Love.

These Evangelical Churches, just like many other Born Again Churches tend to be very half read, they read the Bible just like how Legal Professionals read the Case Book! They are not blessed with indepth wisdom to dig deeply into Christian Literature & to understand the fact the Christianity is based on the foundation of Mutual Love & Respect.

The Achbishop of Canterbury, Dr.Rowan Williams who is the Head of the Church of England has clearly placed his foot down that EVERYONE including Gay, Lesbians & Transexuals who are baptised make a part of The Body Of Christ & They should not be discriminated, People shouldn't fear them & violence cannot be used against them.

Dr.Rowan Williams sits in the House of Lords & gave his Blessings to the Equality Act 2006 passed last year which clearly states that the Church of England cannot discriminate Gays, Lesbian & Transexuals & that they are fully welcomed to participate in all Lay Ministries of The Church & The Eucaristic Service, They belong to One Communion of The Anglican Church. The Equalit Act 2006 has clearly touched on every area of Humanity, Human Rights & Equality.

The Main Focus that we should have when we participate in Church Service & Lay Ministries is to be Focus To Christ & Christ Only. The Church of England recognises the simply fact that Private Lives of individuals are not HER Jurisdiction. The Church does not Judge & Discriminate.

Off course, there are Conservative Anglicans but the Archbishop of Canterbury is firm on his opinions. Hence the Clergy upholds the common stand of the Archbishop.

Another important aspect to consider is, when you attend an old Church like the Roman Catholic or Anglican Church, the Congregation is Large & People mind their own business, they don't investigate your private life. Even though the Catholic Church is extreamly narrow in certain issues, the Churches have no time to interfere in the Private Lives of HER followers & leaves it to the integrity of HER followers. I can understand what you are trying to say but will they be listening? I have tried to make known to them and try to persuade them to change. Well, I don't think I am successful because they are rigid and they will not tolerate anything other than the norm. It is sad but true.

They use the Bible to cause displeasure, violence, discrimination & harm. Jesus has clearly said, 'REMOVE THE LOG IN YOUR OWN EYE BEFORE YOU SEE THE SPEC IN THE OTHER'S EYE!'

I am so surprised to see that these things are still in practise. I don't really understand why this is happening in the UK too.

Another standing ovation to the Government of Brazil! The Country certainly upholds Human Rights to it's fullest extend! They also give refugee status to Transexuals round the whole world who are grossly discriminated in their respective countries. Well Done Brazil!
