Nokia N95 8GB review

I know that there are many reviews on the internet with regards to the new Nokia N95 8GB. I did have the original N95 and I was wondering whether the N95 8GB will address the problems which the original N95 had.

Original N95 owners were anxious and also quite sad with regards to the sunken screen with 2.6", sporting 16M colours. It comes with 160MB of storage space and also a removable memory card for future upgrade of memory space. Original N95 owners also complain about the sliding mechanism being quite woobly. The worst of all is that battery life on the N95. It is only a 950mAH capacity. As a result, most of the time people had to recharge their N95 once a day. There is a lens cover for the 5MP digital camera on the N95.

With the N95 8GB, Nokia engineers have some how tweaked the original N95. I am not sure but it is rumoured that the N95 8GB comes with demand paging which was supposed to speed up start up and shut down time. It is just like hyperthreading on the pc. Well, apart from that, the N95 8GB comes in black only and the screen is on level withe the edge of the screen and the screen is now 2.8"! That is pretty good then. What is more amazing is that the N95 8GB has some how been tweaked and it start up and shut down faster than the original N95 even with the original N95 running on the latest APAC firmware of v12.0.014. You also get a bigger capacity battery (1200mah).

What is not good is that Nokia have do away with the lens cover. What you need to do is that you are advised to get a phone cover to protect the lens and also the phone. Currently the N95 8GB is sold exclusively on Vodafone UK and consumers would have to wait until Christmas before the phone is commericially available in the UK.

Right now, you can asked Vodafone UK to unlock the phone for you but one thing which I had to say is that both the n95 and the N95 8GB have 3D graphic engine in it. Wow!!! Ladies and gentleman, the N95 8GB is definitely the perfect Christmas gift for 2007!!!
