How to Curb Smoking

I do remember someone was telling me that he could not stop smoking even after he has gone through a rehab centre. I asked him why is that smoking so important in his life. he turned around telling me that smoking to him is like a 'must'. It is like smoking after having dinner or during a break. It is something which is done automatically without him knowing that he already had two cigarettes in ten minutes.

He told me that he has to make reservations for those times that he could not smoke. That is why he is smoking so much during break time. He told me that for example - He usually smokes one cigarette an hour. If he could not have break until 5 hours later, he would have to take smoke five cigarettes during break so that he will be able to concentrate during work (for the next five hours). Oh dear.

Smoking is a trend these days. You can be young but it seems that smoking is considered to be cool. They want to impress their peers by smoking. As you know, UK law stated that only a 16 years old will be able to buy cigarettes and therefore smoking them. There is one flaw in it as adults may have bought cigarettes and they would steal it from their parents to smoke particularily if their parents smoke. That is not a pretty sight.

In fact, NHS has been under fire for spending too much money to provide treatment for smokers to stop smoking. i think they are just doing their job. It is not all up to NHS to provide services to those smokers. Smokers themselves would have to help themselves too. The government is also trying their best to help people to curb smoking. It is an expensive past time.

Economic position

The government needs tobacco companies because they do provide a lot of money for the government is terms of taxes on tobacco. The country needs companies like that. However, the government also banned direct advertisements linking to tobacco companies. This is good because it might help people not to think about smoking so much. Researches mentioned that advetisement helps to drive up sales of products and that is a fact.

Social Responsibility

The government is stepping up to help people to stop smoking an discourage people from smoking if they don't smoke at all. One sentence will be good - If you don't smoke, don't try. If you are smoking - Stop it before it destroy your life. One thing for sure is that if you start smoking, it is like drug where by you need to keep on topping up by smoking more cigarettes to satisfy your needs. That would be where you will be burning your money away!!!

Conclusion

Stop smoking. It is bad for you and also to those people surrounding you. In fact, second hand smokers are far worst than smokers themselves because they do not inhale the smoke through a filter. You do not want those people who are close to you to die from lung cancer.

Yes, Smoking is bad for health but you must realize that even food of a certain kind can be even more damaging to health, such as animal fat especially from beef & pork & too much red meat.

A lot of health problems are caused by food & lifestyle which excludes physical activities & enough rest. The rapid climate change & polution too causes various health problems.

Are you aware that there are many cases of lung cancer that i know who never smoked in their life? Yes, it's very common these days that people who never smoked ended up getting aggressive lung cancer.

You must realize that smoking it's not about showing off, it's a recreation & form of relaxing. Some people indulge in food, some people indulge in drinking, some people indulge in smoking. It's a matter of choice & each one smokes according to taste, it's nothing to do with showing off.

There are various reasons why one smokes but let me tell you it's nothing to do with showing off. For most people, smoking seems to be a companion in the world that is filled with dishonest people. Hence, the cigarett becomes a better & sincere companion.

Bottom line is, yes, smoking is bad for health but it's just one of the many things that are bad for health. At the end of the day it's a matter of choice. Yes, most people get addicted to it & you cannot judge them unless you are a smoker yourself.
