I am not going to indulge myself into his past greatest achievement as I am not interested at all. I have to agree that he is pretty good in dealing with the country's affairs when he was the prime minister but now it is a different story. I don't understand why he said that Malay leaders should not apologies. I think he forgot that Ahmad Ismail himself was nowhere to be found and could not even be contacted by the PM. What is going on then? What do you expect UMNO leaders to do?
As I have mentioned, this is not 20th century or 19th century anymore. It is the 22th century and I think Mahathir should realised. What if people make a nasty remark about him then? What would he do? He will most probably do something about it, right? It is easy for him to say that Malay leaders should not apologies. Oh yes, he did not apologies for all the bad things that he did. One good example will be to sack all three top judges back in the 1980s when they did not agree with him. Is that what he thinks that UMNO should do? Hey, wake up, ok?
Mahathir has been dodging corruption and nepotism allegations for all times when he was the prime minister and it is not surprising that PM Badawi is trying to save BN's reputation. Mahathir is quick to say that we should change our PM. The question is: who is going to be the next prime minister? Are we going to follow what Mahathir has said? He is no longer with UMNO and so the leaders of BN and UMNO should take note of this. I don't want Mahathir to take charge of the country's politics. If he is so smart, he should continue becoming the PM of Malaysia.
Well, to think about it, he is more like the senior minister of Singapore then. If that is the case, we should acknowledge him. Otherwise, I think Mahathir should not poke around and sideline himself. He should be firm and join UMNO to continue his fight. He should not leave UMNO and trying to take charge. Look at Anwar. He is back with full force. That should be the way. I am not saying that I am supporting PKR or UMNO but I think that should be the way. If you want to deal with politics, join the club!!!
Update:11/09/2008
What a relief! Ahmad Ismail himself was shown the exit by UMNO. He no longer can contest or vote for three years and his membership to UMNO has been suspended for three year. The irony is that he is still maintaning the fact that he has done nothing wrong. Can someone install some sense into him for once please? He needs some counselling...
