Liberalisation of Foreign Investment in Malaysia

I welcome the fact that the PM of Malaysia has initiated the 30% requirement for bumiputra equity when forming a company in Malaysia. However, I am appauled by the fact that he gave the order for a 50% of a company's shareholders to be bumiputras. Wow, what is going on then? It seems to me that he has done nothing good to the non-bumiputras in Malaysia at all. What can we say? It is not a true liberalisation... What a move by the PM of Malaysia. Freedom? Not really... I am sure that he can do much better than that, don't you think so? For further information, point your browser here to have a close look. I am really disappointed with him...

I don't think that by him doing that, it will help the non Bumis in Malaysia. I'm sure that he is smarter than that, right?

But at least he has gotten rid of the need to hire sleeping Bumiputera partners who contribute nothing to the company!

Well, the good thing is that Abdullah Badawi is praising him and called his move as a 'bold move'.
