Nintendo 3DS

If you are thinking of getting a Nintendo 3DS, I do believe that it is time for you to do so. I am saying this is because the 3DS is "matured" to be used as a portable game console. I do understand that there are some other portable game consoles out there e.g. PSP and other DS range but what is so special about the 3DS then?

Frankly, I have never had a portable game console until yesterday. I have to admit that I am not one of those people who likes to play games. I am more of a nerdy person anyway. However, I was drawn into this console way before it was being launched. Some of my friends asked me why have I chosen the 3DS? What about the coming NGP?

It is easy to answer that question - portability. It is light and the graphics have been upgraded significantly as compared to the previous DS range. Moreover, I am delighted that the wi-fi signal is strong and it will allow customers to upgrade the external memory storage to 8GB. Best of all is the ability of the user to play games in 3D without the need for a pair of special glasses!!! I'm impressed!

I have also made use of the inner camera and two front cameras to create a Mii avatar. I have to say that the quality is not brilliant under bright sunlight but it is good under low light condition.

I had the pleasure of charging the battery for 3 hours as recommended before playing the SF4 in 3D. I have to commend that I did enjoy the game although I'm not used to playing the SF4 on the 3DS. I did try playing the game on the internet against other users in the world and I have not experienced any lag at all.

There was a complain about the battery life on the 3DS. In my honest opinion, I don't think there will be much of a problem so long as you don't keep it on hibernation mode. Once you have finished playing your 3DS, switch it off completely! In that sense, it will save battery! As for me, I have used the 3DS to play SF4 for more than 5 hours (3D+wi-fi) and I still have 50% of battery left!

The only complain is that at this very moment, the in-build browser is yet to be operational. It is such a shame! I hope that Nintendo will be releasing an update firmware to enable the use of the browser soon!

Oh yes, try to stick to the cosmos black version and not the aqua version as I do believe that the aqua version is horrible!

Have fun!

Farmville

I'm never addicted to games. I don't even have a facebook. However, I was introduced to a game called 'farmville' on facebook. In such instance, I need to get an account on facebook before I can play the game. After going through the registration process, it is not really that hard to play.

The game sets upon a time where you are the farmer and you are given a plot of land. What you need to do is actually to plow seeds and build buildings and structures on your land. Apart from that, there are many other activities to increase your chance of climbing up the ladder to a higher level. It takes time and guess what? I'm still NOT addicted to it. The best thing to do if you are very busy with your work is to plow some seeds which will be ready to be harvested on a certain day and time of your wish.

The game reminds me of SIMs and a game on QQ game called 'Farmer'. Have fun guys!

Street Fighter IV

I just can't wait to play the new Street Fighter IV on the PC platform. I've guess that many of you would have known that the game has been released since a few months ago on the Xbox 360 platform and on PS3 but not on other platform. It seems that UK will receive its PC platform game on 3 July 2009. I will have to wait then. Well, it is just not that long to go, isn't it? It is already 29th June 2009 tomorrow?

Oh yes, by the way, there is an animation regarding Street Fighter IV. Well, it's a short film (around 59 minutes) about the creation of Street Fighter IV. One needs to understand the story before you actually know what is going on, isn't it?

MaxPayne 3

Remember Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne? Well, if you think that with the latter, the story has concluded, think again!!! Max Payne 3 is going to be released this coming October!!! Can you believe it?

Well, Max Payne 3 is going to be released together with GTA: Chinatown Wars. It will be such a nice time to get some good old games with a twist. I don't really like new game titles...I would prefer games like Max Payne!!! I do understand that the franchaise is rather old but nevertheless, it is such a nice game to play with! I just could not wait for the new game to be released by Rockstar.

Nintendo DSi

Well, we have the new Nintendo DSi in store today. Well, anything different from the second generation Nintendo game console? Well, you have two camera and it is slimmer than the second generation. Well, what else is different besides that then? I don't think so. Just hang in there. For £149.99, I think I would think about the Sony PS3 or the Xbox 360 instead. Well, they are in a different league. Hum...What about the PSP then? I do fancy it over the DSi though...

Max Payne 3

I just could not wait for Max Payne 3 to be released in the winter of 2009! I have been wondering about the development of the Max Payne game since two years ago! We had the Max Payne and also the fall of Max Payne. In the end, he got in touch with Mona Sax at the end of the second series. Now, we are having the third installment and I will be really happy to play the game! I just could not wait!!!

Street Fighter 4

I am one of those people who liked Street Fighter since the inception of the SF back in the 1990s. Now, with SF4, I could not wait until it is released on PC platform. It is so disappointing that my friends already started playing with the game as they do have the Microsoft Xbox 360. I know that the game is also released on the Sony PS3 but PC Lovers will have to wait. Why? Piracy.

Alright, point taken. However, I don't see the reason why they should delay the game! This might just increase the sales of game consoles but not for pc gamers! It is so unfair for pc gamers when they do such things to us. I do have the good old joystick from my SF3 days. I just can't wait for me to use it once more. It is lying, covered with dust now...

Street Fighter IV

Yes, the SFIV is back in action! Remember the few versions in the market beginning with Street Fighter, Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter 2 Turbo Edition, Street Fighter Champion's Edition, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter FX? Move along, here come Street Fighter IV!!!

I was being able to witness Street Fighter IV Home Version when I was in London. It was really hard to get a game out of it because there were many people lining up to have a go at it. I'd just want to tell you guys that it looks good and the story line is also good. I have to say that the multiple combos is also done properly. Now we have 2D and 3D in a single piece of game. I'm impressed!

I just could not wait to see it on PC...

Max Payne

Remember Max Payne the game? Rockstar released Max Payne and Max Payne 2 on PC and on other console. It is pretty good as far as the game is concern. I have not seen the latest flick of Max Payne by 21st Century Fox which was released on the 18th of October 2008. Oh wow... I think surely it is a good movie based on the popular game.

I am not going to dwell deep into the storyline but after watching the movie preview, I would have to say that it is really a nice movie to watch. Please guys, go for it!!!

Thinking about the good old days

When I ever listen to a track from Street Fighter 2 (farewall to Ryu and Ken), I would immedietely think about the good old days. I mean, what has happened for the past 10 years or more. It is really natural as you would be able to think back after listening to a particular song or do something more common. I am not sure about you all but I think it is good to relect on what we have acheived for the past 10 years or more. In that, we could come up to a better solution to be better off in the next 10 years or more, don't you agree?

I have to say that I have been quite lucky but I am here to help people. People who are in need of advice regarding law, relationship, computers and not forgetting mobile phones. I think I will be able to help you. If you need me, just send me an e-mail to s903sh05@yahoo.co.uk.

I am eager to see Street Fighter IV appear in any arcade. It will be the most anticipated arcade game of the century!!! The best of all is that Street Fighter IV will appear on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC!!! Yahoo!!!

Hostile Takeover?

Remember Grand Theft Auto? I mean the game which was played by many on various platform from PC right up to Microsoft's Xbox 360. Oh yes, the game was created by Rockstar and Take Two Interactive. Right now, Electronic Arts, well known for producing games like Need For Speed, is thinking of buying over Take Two Interactive.

The board of directors from Take Two have been convincing shareholders not to accept the bid price from EA (at $26 a share) because the company's value is far greater than that price. Sometimes, I do understand why the board of directors from Take Two Interactive is doing that. They are doing good. Their stock prices are steady for these few years and it is on the rise after the last Grand Theft Auto game was released.

EA wants to buy over Take Two Interactive so that they will be able to get the slice of the market from selling GTA games. Sometimes it is not good to sell off the company because the company (TTI) has many upcoming plans and it is now doing very well. If they do sell it now, I don't think shareholders of TTI is going to be happy because the company worth more than $26 a share. Oh well, we will have a look at it then.

Crysis

I know that many people had been playing this game for some time and I am really slow in coming to games. That is because I do not have the time to play pc games anymore. Well, I am fully booked! That is the reason. However, I do have some spare time in reviewing the pc game famously launched by Microsoft.

As many of you would register, the game requires a good graphic card and also a fast processor. It will be better if you use at least the Nvidia 8600 series and with a Core 2 Duo E6600 processor and above. Oh yes, make sure that you have at least 2GB of system memory to ensure that the game runs at a respectable frame rate. You can argue that during the game play, you can change the settings to medium level instead of the high level of details before continue playing with it. It is all up to you.

Well, I was using the Core 2 Duo T7500 processor with an Nvidia 8600M GS, couple with 4GB of system memory and also a 300GB of SATA 2 hard drive, it rocks! The game play is fantastic and it has one of the best 3D engines around! Play it if you like first person shooter like me. Fantastic game play!!!

Need For Speed

You gamers may have noticed that EA has released a new version of Need for Speed which is called Need for Speed: Pro Street. It featured new cars all racing on tracks only. It is a new type of racing as other versions of the Need for Speed combined on tracks and also on normal roads. I think EA is trying to cater for a different market.

Sadly, I don't seem to get used to the idea of Pro Street racing. I think the new game is not as polished as the other versions of Need for Speed especially Need for Speed : Most Wanted. Graphics wise the new game required better graphics card (as usual with newer games). Playability of the new game could not come up to the older NFS game titles. I have to say that if you want to play NFS, stick with NEFS: Carbon or older. As for NFS: Pro Street, you may want to give it a pass this time.
